The Voice of the Keweenaw
Radio based in Calumet, Michigan
but reaching the world.

Real People Media is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization which has been based in Calumet, Michigan since 2017.  Since 2019 the nonprofit has owned the historic Woolworth's building- opening the Keweenaw Storytelling Center within its walls in 2021. In February 2024, the FCC granted RPM a construction permit for a low power FM radio station.  The event was a decade long dream of the organization.

WRJX-LP will further aid in fulfilling our mission: helping people share their stories through the literary, visual, performing and media arts.  WRJX-LP community radio will allow us to share our signature programs like The Red Jacket Jamboree, old-time radio show, the Voice Box Sessions, On the Spot Storytelling and Animating the Copper Country, to new audiences.  WRJX-LP is the 'Voice of the Keweenaw"

As Michigan's northernmost radio statin, WRJX-LP - the Voice of the Keweenaw, will provide radio services to those previously unable to hear the programs we plan to provide.  Join us in bringing WRJX-LP 94.1 FM to the airwaves.  We are the Voice of the Keweenaw!

Why our call sign? WRJX?    All stations east of the Mississippi start with W.  We chose RJ for Red Jacket, the original name of Calumet and also representing our signature show - The Red Jacket Jamboree.  And X represents excellence in content and extra programming.
